Springfield man arrested on warrant during welfare check

SPRINGFIELD — A Florida man was arrested on an outstanding Vermont warrant during a welfare check at Springfield Plaza early June 12.

Michael L. Hood, 34, of Fort Myers, Florida, was taken into custody without incident at approximately 5:24 a.m., according to the Springfield Police Department.

Officer Callahan responded to a report of a person down at the plaza and located Hood during the welfare check.

A records check revealed Hood had an active Vermont arrest warrant, police said.

Hood was issued a criminal citation to appear in Windy Criminal Court on June 12 at 12:30 p.m.

He was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $50 cash or surety bail.
