Plattsburgh man arrested on felony charges for alleged order of protection violation

PLATTSBURGH — A 41-year-old Plattsburgh man was arrested June 18 on felony charges following an alleged violation of an order of protection.

Ian E. Curtis was taken into custody at 7:35 p.m. by Clinton County Sheriff’s deputies, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Curtis is charged with criminal contempt in the first degree and aggravated family offense, both E-felonies.

Deputies allegedly found Curtis at a residence he was required to stay away from under an active order of protection.

Curtis was processed at the sheriff’s office and arraigned in Peru Town Court.

He was committed to Clinton County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,000 cash bail, $4,000 bond or $10,000 partially secured bond.

Curtis is scheduled to reappear in Peru Town Court at a later date.
