Locke man arrested for falsely reporting incident

LOCKE — A 20-year-old Lansing man was arrested June 17 for falsely reporting an incident to authorities, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.

Gavin T. Rushlow was charged with falsely reporting an incident in the third degree, a Class A misdemeanor, Sheriff Brian Schenck said.

Deputies arrested Rushlow at 6:12 p.m. June 17 in the Town of Locke.

The Cayuga County 911 center received a call from Rushlow at approximately 4:16 p.m. June 17, stating he saw a vehicle driving erratically and observed the operator drinking alcohol, according to the sheriff’s office.

The 911 center shortly after received a call from the vehicle’s operator, who said Rushlow was harassing him.

During the investigation, deputies determined Rushlow falsely reported the 911 call.

Rushlow was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Locke Town Court on July 16 at 7 p.m.
