ENOSBURGH — A 17-year-old driver has been cited for grossly negligent operation with death resulting in connection with a June 13 motorcycle crash that killed a Fairfield man.
The juvenile reported to the St. Albans Barracks on June 24 and was issued a citation to appear before Franklin County Superior Court Family Division on Aug. 19.
Vermont State Police said their continued investigation suggests the juvenile failed to yield to a northbound motorcycle and disregarded a stop sign at the intersection of Duffy Hill and Tyler Branch roads.
The crash occurred at approximately 7:03 p.m. June 13 when the juvenile, driving a 2002 Toyota Camry westbound on Tyler Branch Road, collided with a 2007 Harley Davidson Sportster 883 Low driven by Cody Paradee, 32, of Fairfield.
Paradee was traveling north on Duffy Hill Road when the collision occurred.
Paradee sustained serious injuries and was flown to the University of Vermont Medical Center, where he died in the early morning hours of June 14.
The juvenile driver was not injured in the crash.
Weather conditions were cloudy with dry road conditions at the time of the crash.
