BOSTON — Members of the Special Investigations Unit arrested Michael Wells, 36, of Dorchester, on drug trafficking charges Monday.
At about 2 p.m., officers were conducting a drug operation and observed the target of the investigation exiting the front door of 1291 Massachusetts Avenue.
The suspect was seen walking towards a motor vehicle, and was stopped by officers as he was opening the driver’s side door.
The suspect was advised that officers had search warrants for his body and his residence.
The suspect immediately discarded a drawstring bag and was placed into handcuffs.
A search incident to arrest led to the recovery of ten plastic bags containing a total of forty-seven grams of crack cocaine.
A search warrant was then executed at 1291 Massachusetts Avenue, Dorchester.
As a result, officers recovered drug packaging material, a digital scale, a safe, portable single burner, and $3,537 in U.S. currency.
Wells was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for trafficking of Class B and possession with intent to distribute Class B.
