COLCHESTER — A 42-year-old woman sustained serious injuries Monday morning when her motorcycle left the roadway and struck a ditch on Highway 30.
The accident occurred at approximately 10:40 a.m. near the intersection of Delaware County Highway 7, according to the Colchester Town Police Department.
Police said the woman was traveling north on Highway 30 when the motorcycle left the roadway, causing her to be ejected from the vehicle.
She was transported by LifeNet to Albany Medical Center for advanced medical care.
The Colchester Town Police Department responded to the scene along with the Downsville Fire Department and Emergency Squad.
Additional agencies that assisted included Walton Fire Department, Delaware County EMS, Delaware County Emergency Services 911 Center, Town of Hancock EMS and Ambulanz.
Police noted that Ambulanz was simultaneously handling another emergency call in Downsville that also required air medical transport by a second LifeNet helicopter.
