WEBSTER — A 28-year-old Webster man was arrested June 18 on charges he pointed a handgun at another customer inside a Main Street 7-Eleven store in May, police said.

Alfredo Rivera-Luquis of School Street was taken into custody around 6:40 a.m. on a warrant charging him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct, according to the Webster Police Department.

The incident occurred May 25 at approximately 6:35 a.m. when a victim walked into the Webster Police Station to report someone had brandished a handgun at him while he was in line at the convenience store.

Officer Shane Murray’s investigation revealed Rivera-Luquis approached the victim from behind, touched his back and challenged him to a fight.

After the victim asked Rivera-Luquis to stay away, the suspect removed a handgun from a fanny pack and pointed it at the victim, placing the barrel against his chest, police said.

Rivera-Luquis then released the magazine from the firearm and showed the victim it was loaded, causing several other customers to run to the back of the store in fear.

The suspect left the area in a vehicle after the confrontation.

Around 10:04 a.m. the same day, the victim called police dispatch saying he believed he saw Rivera-Luquis’s vehicle parked on School Street.

Officers Collins, Rockwood and Trinque located the car and recovered the handgun used in the incident through their investigation.

Murray applied for and received an arrest warrant through Dudley District Court.

Officer Murray spotted Rivera-Luquis on School Street June 18 and arrested him on the outstanding warrant.

In a separate incident June 14, two Charlton residents were arrested following a large fight at the PACC bar on Harris Street.

Officers responded around 10:26 p.m. to reports of a fight in progress in the parking lot and found more than 40 people gathered, though they were no longer actively fighting.

Janessa Mann, 41, and Christopher Roberts, 50, both of Charlton, were arrested after interfering with officers and causing a disturbance during the investigation.

Mann was charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest after she pushed Sergeant Reed as officers attempted to place Roberts in protective custody for intoxication.

Roberts was charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest after he resisted officers’ attempts to arrest him.

On June 15, officers responded to multiple simultaneous calls including a large fight involving bikers on Didonato Avenue where witnesses reported a handgun was displayed.

Three separate 911 callers reported the fight around 10:30 p.m., with several vehicles and motorcycles fleeing toward Hartley Terrace apartments as officers responded.

Two additional disturbance calls came in simultaneously on Prospect Street and at another bar while officers were investigating the gun call.

Overnight shift officers arriving early for their shifts assisted with the multiple incidents.
