Springfield police seek vehicle in fatal hit-and-run crash

SPRINGFIELD — Police are seeking the public’s help to locate a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian Monday morning.

Officers responded to the 100 block of Bowles Street at approximately 10:20 a.m. Monday for a single vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.

The adult female pedestrian was transported to Baystate Medical Center where she died from her injuries.

The driver did not remain at the scene.

The Springfield Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating the crash in conjunction with Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni’s Motor Vehicle Homicide Unit.

Police are asking anyone who sees the vehicle or knows its location to call 413-787-6300 so an officer can respond.
