MANCHESTER — Police found a missing 5-year-old girl safe and unharmed today after a search involving a police dog at an apartment complex.
Patrol units responded to an apartment complex after receiving a report of the missing child, according to the Manchester Police Department.
Officers launched a search and brought in K9 Dakota to assist with the operation.
Using a piece of clothing the child had worn the night before, Dakota picked up the scent and led officers outside to a different nearby complex.
After tracking the scent, Dakota led officers to the third floor of the building.
The child was found wandering inside the building, safe and unharmed.
The girl was reunited with her mother.
K9 Dakota received a ball as a reward for the successful search.
