STOCKBRIDGE — A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing his pickup truck into a telephone pole Saturday night.
Abelardo Jimenez of Stockbridge was driving westbound on Vermont Route 100 at approximately 8:10 p.m. when his 2009 Toyota Tacoma went off the roadway and struck the pole, according to Vermont State Police.
Jimenez sustained minor injuries in the crash and was transported to Gifford Medical Center for treatment.
The vehicle was totaled in the collision.
Road conditions were dry and weather was clear at the time of the crash, police said.
Troopers from the Vermont State Police Royalton Barracks responded to the single-vehicle accident.
Investigation determined that Jimenez was impaired at the time of the crash, police said.
Jimenez was arrested and transported to the Royalton Barracks for processing.
He was released with a criminal citation to appear in Windsor Superior Court – Criminal Division at a later date.
