WEATHERSFIELD — An elderly man with dementia who went missing from Stoughton Pond Recreation Site was found safe Thursday evening after a multi-agency search.
Deputy Jalava and members of the Ascutney/Weathersfield Fire Departments searched the area after the man was reported missing.
Sheriff Palmer worked with Chief Compo to coordinate resources and direct the response.
Members of the Vermont State Police and Chester Fire Department also responded to the search.
Vermont State Police was in the process of deploying a drone when the man was located.
Ascutney/Weathersfield firefighters found the man on Branch Brook Road.
Deputy Watrous gave him a ride back to his family at the Stoughton Pound Recreation Site.
The man was evaluated by Golden Cross Ambulance and reunited with his family.
