Man arrested on suspicion of impaired driving after crash in Duxbury

DUXBURY — A 32-year-old Morristown man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs after his vehicle left the roadway on Vermont Route 100 Friday evening.

Harley Townsend was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox when the vehicle crossed over the fog line and crashed near Sunrise Avenue at 8:08 p.m., according to Vermont State Police.

Townsend was wearing a seat belt and was not injured in the crash.

Police determined Townsend was impaired and took him into custody on suspicion of DUI drugs.

He was transported to the Stowe Police Department for processing.

Townsend was later released with a citation to appear in Washington Superior Court – Criminal Division.

The vehicle sustained moderate damage in the crash.

Road conditions were dry and weather was clear at the time of the incident.
