ELMIRA — On June 21 at approximately 11:15 a.m., Elmira Police Officers were dispatched to a residence on Matthews Street in the City of Elmira for a reported disturbance.
Upon arrival, Officers heard a physical altercation occurring inside the residence, during which a mention of a knife was made.
Officers immediately began issuing commands for the occupants to exit the residence.
Shortly thereafter, a male subject exited the home and was taken into custody without incident.
A second subject, a female, was located inside the residence suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Officers rendered aid until Erway Ambulance personnel arrived on scene.
The female was transported to a local medical facility, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation, Cody R. Doane, a 32-year-old male from Elmira, was arrested and charged with Assault in the Second Degree, a Class D felony.
