North Dansville man arrested on grand larceny charge

NORTH DANSVILLE — Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Steuben County resident on felony charges following an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.

On Feb. 6, 2022, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence on Main Street in the Town of North Dansville for the report of a larceny that had occurred.

Sheriff’s Investigators began an investigation into the Grand Larceny and through the investigation, the suspect was identified as 37-year-old Jonathan Sick, previously from the Town of Dansville in Steuben County.

On June 18, Sheriff’s Investigator James Merrick arrested Sick and charged him with felony Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree.

Sick was transported to the Livingston County Jail where he was turned over to Central Booking Deputies for processing and pre-arraignment detention.

Sick was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Springwater Justice Johnson.

The Judge released Sick on his own recognizance, as the offense did not qualify for bail under the NYS Bail Reform Act.

The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Sick at the court arraignment for his defense.

The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was present to represent the People.
