BEACON — Four men were arrested June 20 after police found a loaded stolen handgun during an investigation into shooting threats at two locations, including the Beacon Train Station.
The Beacon Police Department received two separate calls that morning for disputes where people were allegedly threatened with shootings.
Officers responding to the train station found a suspect running from the scene who was apprehended and discovered to be wanted on a warrant in Beacon.
While processing that suspect, a vehicle believed to have been involved in the previous disputes parked in the lower lot of Municipal Plaza with three males inside.
Police made contact with the males and located a loaded Smith and Wesson .380 handgun in the vehicle.
Investigation revealed the handgun was stolen from Georgia.
All three males in the vehicle were arrested and held pending arraignment.
Alfredo Robles, 20, of Beacon was arrested on an active warrant for assault in the third degree, criminal contempt in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors.
He was arraigned in Beacon City Court and held on $1,000 bail.
Kiahron Thompson, 20, Malachi Cornwell, 19, and a 16-year-old male, all of Poughkeepsie, New York, were charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree.
They were held pending arraignment.
