Addison man kills partner’s boyfriend, then himself in domestic dispute

ADDISON — The New York State Police are investigating a homicide followed by an apparent suicide that occurred at approximately 7 a.m. June 20 in the village of Addison, Steuben County.

Troopers responded to a reported shooting at a residence on Academy Street following a domestic-related incident.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 45-year-old male arrived at the residence and became involved in a dispute with a 43-year-old female and her 41-year-old male partner.

The 45-year-old male reportedly left the location and returned a short time later, at which point he allegedly shot and killed the 41-year-old male.

The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle, which later crashed near Wall Street.

Troopers located the 45-year-old male deceased in a nearby wooded area from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The 43-year-old female was not physically injured during the incident.

Autopsies will be conducted to confirm the causes of death.

State Police were assisted at the scene by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and the Addison Police Department.

The investigation remains ongoing.
