3 arrested on drug, traffic charges in Rhode Island

HOPE VALLEY — Rhode Island State Police made three arrests Tuesday evening on drug possession and traffic-related charges following separate motor vehicle stops.

At 5:08 p.m., troopers arrested Kyle Morin, 32, of 168 Wheatland Avenue, Chicopee, Massachusetts, for possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance greater than 10 grams but less than one ounce of crack cocaine.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in Exeter.

Morin was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed before being arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released with a future court date.

At 8:44 p.m., troopers arrested Eric Sangster, 34, of 78 Gervais Street, Coventry, Rhode Island, for reckless driving.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in East Greenwich.

Sangster was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a future court date.

At 11:48 p.m., troopers arrested John Huertas, 28, of 6173 Raleigh Street, Orlando, Florida, for driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor/drugs with unknown blood alcohol content as a first offense and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Route 165 in Exeter.

Huertas was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released to the custody of a responsible adult.
