Rome man arrested in domestic dispute involving child

ROME — A Rome man was arrested following a physical domestic dispute in the city, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol.

On June 17, deputies assigned to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Division responded to a residence in the outer district of Rome for a reported domestic incident that had occurred the day prior.

Upon arrival and subsequent to an investigation, it was determined that Cameron Shepard, 34, of Rome had engaged in a physical altercation with his partner in the presence of a child.

After locating Shepard on June 18, he was taken into custody and transported to the Oneida County Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building, where he was booked and processed.

Shepard was charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor.

He was also charged with one count of criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, a Class A misdemeanor.

Additionally, Shepard was charged with one count of harassment in the second degree, a violation.

After being processed, Shepard was brought before Central Arraignment at Oneida County Correctional Facility and was released on recognizance.
