MOUNT HOLLY — A 41-year-old Mount Holly man was charged with driving under the influence of drugs after crashing his vehicle into a tree on June 19.
Vermont State Police troopers from the Rutland Barracks were notified of the crash on Shunpike Road near Syria Road at approximately 7:16 a.m.
Police determined Jason Crudden was operating a gold 2003 Subaru Forester on Shunpike Road when he failed to maintain control of the vehicle.
The vehicle exited the east side of the roadway and came to rest after colliding with a tree.
Crudden was located at a nearby residence and displayed indicators of drug impairment, police said.
Crudden was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI drug and transported to Manchester Police Department for a Drug Recognition Expert evaluation.
He was later transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center where he was processed and released on citation to appear in court.
The Vermont State Police were assisted by the Mount Holly Fire Department and Manchester Police Department.
