SPRINGFIELD — A 51-year-old Springfield man was arrested on an outstanding warrant May 26 while police were conducting an unrelated investigation.
Michael Runnells was taken into custody at 4:11 p.m. at 78 Valley St., according to the Springfield Police Department.
Officers were at the location for an unrelated matter when they observed Runnells, police said.
Police had prior knowledge that Runnells allegedly had an active warrant for his arrest.
Upon confirmation of the in-state arrest warrant, Runnells was arrested without incident at 4:29 p.m.
He was transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing.
Runnells was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit on May 27 at 12:30 p.m.
He was subsequently lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $200 bail.
