COLCHESTER — A 19-year-old Downsville man was arrested on driving while intoxicated charges following a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning.
Nolan Barnhart was charged after his vehicle went off River Road and struck a telephone pole in the town of Colchester, according to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest June 14.
Deputies responded to the crash scene Saturday morning and made contact with Barnhart, who was identified as the driver.
Following an investigation, deputies arrested and charged Barnhart with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or more and driving while intoxicated, both unclassified misdemeanors.
Barnhart was also issued traffic summonses for moving from lane unsafely and speed not reasonable and prudent, both violations of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
He was released on appearance tickets and directed to return to Colchester Town Court at a later date.
