CORTLAND — Two men were arrested on drug-related charges following a traffic stop on Church Street on June 14.
Jason W. Scutt, 53, of North Tower Road in the town of Solon, was charged with tampering with physical evidence, a felony, along with misdemeanor charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree.
Scutt also received an infraction for failure to signal.
Jeremy M. Scutt, 27, of Route 11 in the town of Cortlandville, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor.
The arrests occurred at 9:38 p.m. after Cortland County Sheriff’s Office deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.
During the stop, Jason Scutt, who was driving, was found in possession of a controlled substance and physically resisted officers while concealing evidence, according to the sheriff’s office.
Jeremy Scutt, a passenger in the vehicle, was also found in possession of a controlled substance.
Both men were transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office for processing and released on appearance tickets.
Jason Scutt is scheduled to appear for arraignment in City of Cortland Court on June 23 at 9 a.m.
