TEWKSBURY — A 65-year-old Andover man has been arrested on charges of enticing a child under 16, police said.
David Espinola was charged following an investigation that began June 7 when a third party contacted the Tewksbury Police Department with evidence, according to Chief Ryan Columbus.
The evidence showed that Espinola was having sexually explicit conversations with what he believed was a 13-year-old girl and was planning to meet with her in person, police said.
The Tewksbury Police Department Detective Division conducted an investigation and obtained an arrest warrant from Lowell District Court on June 12.
Espinola was located at his Andover apartment later that day and arrested without incident.
He was arraigned in Lowell District Court on June 13, where he was released on the condition that he have no unsupervised contact or volunteer work with minors.
Espinola is scheduled to return to Lowell District Court on July 8.
