NEWPORT — The Vermont State Police concluded an investigation Monday that determined a 47-year-old Newport man violated an active abuse prevention order on three occasions while incarcerated.
Daniel Garvatt was cited for three counts of violation of an abuse prevention order, according to police.
The violations occurred while Garvatt was housed at Northern State Correctional Facility in Newport.
Police concluded their investigation at approximately 5:50 p.m. Monday.
Garvatt was issued a citation to appear at Vermont Superior Court-Orleans Criminal Division on July 15 at 8:30 a.m. to address the charges.
The Vermont State Police does not release the names of victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.
