Avon woman arrested on felony drug charge after I-390 traffic stop

AVON — Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of an Allegany County resident on a felony drug charge following a traffic stop on Interstate 390 in the Town of Avon.

On June 15 at approximately 9:53 p.m., Deputy Jason Page was assigned to the Sheriff’s Office Highway Patrol Unit when he observed a vehicle operating southbound on Interstate 390 in violation of sections of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.

The Deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified a passenger as 42-year-old Priscilla Armstrong of Wellsville.

The Deputy suspected that there was drug activity in the vehicle and conducted a drug investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Armstrong was found to be in possession of a quantity of fentanyl.

Armstrong was arrested and charged with felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree.

Armstrong was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention.

Armstrong was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part at the Livingston County Jail before the Town of Springwater Justice Johnson.

The Judge remanded Armstrong to the custody of the Sheriff without the possibility of bail due to her having two or more previous felony convictions.

The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Armstrong at the court arraignment for her defense.

The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was present to represent the People.

Assisting with the investigation were members of the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division and The State University of Police at Geneseo.
