Stolen dirt bike recovered in Connecticut traced to Hadley theft ring

1 min read

HADLEY — Several dirt bikes were stolen from a residence in April 2024 as part of an organized theft ring targeting the vehicles throughout the area, police said.

A relative of one of the owners recently spotted a social media post they believed showed one of the stolen bikes, prompting the owners to contact the Hadley Police Department.

Working with Connecticut police, officers located and recovered one of the stolen dirt bikes for the owners.

The person who possessed the bike was determined not to be involved in the theft and had purchased it from someone he believed was the rightful owner, police said.

The investigation continues into who sold the dirt bike to the purchaser.
