NORTH HERO — A St. Albans woman has been charged with gross negligent operation resulting in death after a head-on collision that killed a motorcyclist on US Route 2.
Ellen Willson, 38, was traveling southbound on US Route 2 near Savage Point Road at 1:47 p.m. June 15 when her 2019 Chevrolet Silverado crossed the center line into the northbound lane.
The truck struck two motorcycles traveling northbound.
Hunter Rounds, 20, of Grand Isle, died from his injuries at the scene.
Rounds was operating a 2009 Honda CBR 600 and was wearing a helmet but no seat belt.
Jason Rounds, 51, of Grand Isle, was transported to University of Vermont Medical Center with serious but stable injuries.

Willson sustained minor injuries and was cleared at University of Vermont Medical Center.
She was wearing a seat belt and her truck sustained heavy front-end damage.
Vermont State Police, North Hero Fire Department and Grand Isle Rescue responded to the crash.
Weather and road conditions were clear at the time of the collision.
Willson was arrested and processed at the St. Albans Barracks.
She was cited for gross negligent operator with death resulting and gross negligent operation causing serious bodily injury.
Willson is scheduled to appear in Grand Isle County Court on Aug. 7 at 9 a.m.
