DUXBURY — A 28-year-old man was arrested after threatening a woman with a replica firearm at Duxbury Beach on June 13.
The Duxbury Police Department responded to the East Lot of Duxbury Beach at approximately 9:30 p.m. after a female caller reported that a man driving a black Nissan brandished a handgun and threatened to shoot her.
Officers spoke with the caller, who confirmed the threat and provided a description of the vehicle and its operator.
Police located the black Nissan attempting to leave the East lot and conducted a high-risk traffic stop.
The driver, identified as Nicholas Haddad, complied with police instructions and was detained without incident.
During the investigation, Haddad told officers he had a “BB Gun” in the car.
Officers discovered a replica Glock airsoft gun under the driver’s seat.
The replica Glock was nearly indistinguishable from a real firearm and included Glock markings, a working slide, and removable magazine.
A second replica Glock airsoft gun was found during an inventory of the vehicle.
Haddad told officers the woman had approached him and started asking him questions.
He said he became irritated and pointed the airsoft gun at her after the woman had shined a flashlight in his face.
Haddad was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and threat to commit a crime.
