ANSONIA — A 46-year-old man was arrested June 14 after Kentucky tourists used tracking technology to locate stolen items at his High Street residence.
Carlos Sobel was charged with third-degree larceny and drug possession after police executed a search warrant at the address.
Two Kentucky residents reported to Ansonia police that their car was broken into while camping in Rhode Island and property was stolen.
The couple said AirPods were among the stolen items and they tracked them using their phone to High Street in Ansonia.
Police developed Sobel as a suspect and obtained a search warrant for the High Street address.
During the search, officers recovered eight of the 11 items reported stolen.
Sobel was found hiding behind the house and taken into custody.
He was held on $10,000 bond for the larceny charge.
Officers also located 30 folds of suspected heroin inside the home during the search.
Alicia Martoni, 45, of Ansonia, was also charged with possession of narcotics in connection with the drugs found at the residence.
Both Martoni and Sobel were held on $5,000 bond for the drug charges.
Sobel was additionally wanted on three violation of probation warrants, each carrying a $10,000 bond.
Both defendants were scheduled to be arraigned at Derby Superior Court on June 16.
