Rhode Island state police make 6 arrests Friday into Saturday

PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Police arrested six people on various charges Friday into early Saturday morning, according to a department report.

At 9:59 a.m. Friday, troopers arrested Heather Goss, 32, of 132 Cass Street, Providence, on an active Third Division District Court bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on an original charge of driving under the influence.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Hawkins Street in Providence.

Goss was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institutions Women’s Intake Center.

At 10:13 a.m. Friday, troopers arrested Ray Pinto, 40, of 37 Wilna Street, Providence, on an affidavit and arrest warrant charging him with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

The charges include possession of 10 grams or less of cocaine and possession of 10 grams or less of alprazolam.

The arrest resulted from a barracks investigation and subsequent residence check at 37 Wilna Street in Providence.

Pinto was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released with a future Sixth Division District Court arraignment date.

At 5:54 p.m. Friday, troopers arrested Michael Stanley, 45, of 5 Beverly Circle, Greenville, on an affidavit and arrest warrant charging him with failure to stop for an accident resulting in damage to an attended vehicle.

The arrest resulted from a barracks investigation after Stanley responded to the barracks.

Stanley was processed, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released with a future Third Division District Court arraignment date.

At 9:19 p.m. Friday, troopers arrested Carleen Freeman, 43, of 19 Dexter Court, Pawtucket, on an affidavit and arrest warrant for three counts of shoplifting originating from the Woonsocket Police Department.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Broad Street in Cumberland.

Freeman was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and turned over to the Woonsocket Police Department.

At 11:34 p.m. Friday, troopers arrested Marcus Matthews, 32, of 12 Charlene Drive, Brockton, Massachusetts, for driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Atwells Avenue in Providence.

Matthews was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released with a future Sixth Division District Court arraignment date.

At 12:18 a.m. Saturday, troopers arrested Jose Morales Leon, 26, of 166 Division Street, Providence, for violation of a protection order, second offense.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Memorial Boulevard in Providence.

Leon was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by a justice of the peace, and released with a future Sixth Division District Court arraignment date.
