SULLIVAN COUNTY — A 42-year-old Newport man has been found guilty on all charges including aggravated felonious sexual assault, incest and endangering the welfare of a minor.
Ryan Barbin was convicted this week in Sullivan County Superior Court following a jury trial.
The charges stem from a June 2024 arrest following an investigation into the sexual assault of a child known to Barbin.
The investigation was conducted by a multi-disciplinary team including the Newport Police Department, the Sullivan County Attorney’s Office, the Child Advocacy Center of Grafton and Sullivan Counties, the Dartmouth Health Child Advocacy and Protection Program, and cyber crimes investigators from the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office.
Sullivan County Attorney Christine Hilliard and Assistant Sullivan County Attorney James Eager prosecuted the case.
Barbin’s sentencing is scheduled for July 15 at 1:30 p.m. in Sullivan Superior Court.
Barbin faces additional pending charges in Strafford County related to alleged possession of a stolen firearm while a convicted felon.
