Richford man arrested on warrant during traffic stop

RICHFORD — A 44-year-old man was arrested on an active warrant Thursday evening while walking past a traffic stop on Main Street.

Shaun Lagasse of Richford was taken into custody at approximately 8:09 p.m. June 12 by Vermont State Police troopers from the St. Albans Barracks.

Troopers were conducting a traffic stop when they observed Lagasse walking on the sidewalk and recognized him as having an active arrest warrant.

The warrant was issued for violation of conditions of release, a misdemeanor charge under Vermont statute 13 VSA 7559(e).

Lagasse was transported to Northwest State Correctional Facility in St. Albans where he was held on $200 bail.

He was issued a citation ordering him to appear before Franklin County Criminal Court on June 13 at 1 p.m.
