New London police investigate shooting that wounded 2 men

NEW LONDON — New London police are investigating a shooting that wounded two men Thursday night in the area of Bank and Golden streets.

Officers responded to reports of gunshots fired and a possible gunshot victim at approximately 11:12 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found an adult male victim who appeared to have sustained a gunshot wound to his lower extremity.

Officers immediately provided medical aid at the scene.

The victim was transported to L+M Hospital for further medical treatment.

Officers located evidence supporting the initial report in the area and secured the scene with a perimeter.

Members of the Investigative Services Division responded to collect evidence and process the scene.

A second adult male victim from the incident arrived at L+M Hospital for medical treatment for what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his lower extremity.

The gunshot wounds sustained by both victims do not appear to be life-threatening.

The incident does not appear to be a random act.

The investigation remains active.
