Marathon man arrested on drug charges, held without bail

MARATHON — A 35-year-old Marathon man was arrested June 12 on felony drug possession charges after officers took him into custody on an outstanding warrant.

Casey L. Chorley of Grove Street was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers observed Chorley at a location in the Town of Marathon at 10:40 a.m. and arrested him on an active warrant issued through the Town of Homer Court.

After his arrest, officers found Chorley in possession of a controlled substance and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

Chorley was transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

He was arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process at 8:00 p.m. June 12 and remanded to the Cortland County Jail without bail.

Chorley’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Town of Marathon Court.
