1 min read

EAST HAVEN — A second arrest has been made in connection with an organized Home Depot retail theft investigation.

The investigation was initiated by Home Depot’s Asset Protection Team and uncovered a pattern of suspicious transactions where a customer repeatedly approached the same register operated by the same employee.

Over the course of at least 15 visits, the customer was knowingly undercharged or allowed to leave with high-value merchandise without paying full price, or without paying at all.

Surveillance footage and transaction records confirmed the repeated activity.

In exchange, the customer allegedly provided cash payments to the employee involved following the transactions.

The now ex-employee has been identified as Thomas Reynolds, 22, of Branford.

Reynolds turned himself in at East Haven Police headquarters after learning of an active arrest warrant submitted by investigating Officer Stephen Marsico.

Reynolds has been charged with larceny in the third degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the third degree.

Reynolds is scheduled to appear in New Haven Superior Court, G.A. 23 on June 25.
