SPRINGFIELD — Members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit executed a search warrant Thursday morning that resulted in the seizure of two illegal firearms, crack cocaine, marijuana and cash.
The warrant was served at approximately 6:15 a.m. on the 100 block of Garland Street by FIU detectives under the direction of Lt. Jaime Bruno, along with members of the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department and Springfield Police K9 Unit.
The investigation had been targeting Howard Dukes for the illegal distribution of crack cocaine over several months.
When officers executed the search warrant, Dukes was found in the bathroom allegedly flushing drugs down the toilet.
Dukes and several other occupants were detained during the search.
Detectives recovered two illegal firearms, more than the legal amount of marijuana, crack cocaine and cash during the search.
Three people were arrested in connection with the investigation.
Howard Dukes, 50, of Springfield, is charged with possession with the intent to distribute a Class B drug and tampering or destruction of evidence.
Aziyah Glover, 21, of Springfield, is charged with possession of a firearm without an FID card (two counts), possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card (two counts), receiving stolen property less than $1,200, improper storage of a firearm (two counts) and possession with the intent to distribute a Class D drug.
Eu’Kali Glover, 22, of Springfield, is charged with possession of a firearm without an FID card (two counts), possession of ammunition without an FID card (two counts), receiving stolen property less than $1,200, improper storage of a firearm (two counts) and possession with the intent to distribute a Class D drug.
