SOUTH PORTLAND — Police officers responded to the 800 block of Main Street for a reported aggravated assault where they located an individual with numerous stab wounds.
Medical aid was rendered and the individual was transported to the hospital for further treatment.
The injuries do not appear life-threatening at this time.
The suspect of the assault was reported to be in the nearby woods.
With the help of South Portland and Cumberland County Sheriff canine teams and a Scarborough Police Department drone team, the individual was located a short time later.
Both individuals knew each other, and this was not a random incident.
