Man arrested for drunk driving on Highland Avenue in Needham

NEEDHAM — A 57-year-old Brockton man was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol after his vehicle was found parked across both lanes of traffic on Highland Avenue at approximately 4:14 a.m. June 8.

Officers were dispatched to Highland Avenue after a witness reported the vehicle blocking traffic.

The arrest was among several incidents reported by Needham police between June 2 and June 8.

On June 2 at approximately 6:32 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the area of May Street and Pennsylvania Avenue for reported damage to a guard rail along the south side of the road.

The vehicle responsible had left the scene.

At approximately 10 a.m. June 2, an officer was notified of online harassment of a Wayne Road resident.

A 36-year-old Needham man will be summoned to Dedham District Court following a motor vehicle stop in front of a West Street address at approximately 8:26 p.m. June 2.

The man faces charges including unregistered motor vehicle, uninsured motor vehicle, number plate violation to conceal/attaching plates, and possession of open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Officers responded to the area of Webster Street for a hit and run crash involving property damage at approximately 3:53 a.m. June 4.

The incident is under investigation.

A 17-year-old Stoughton man will be summoned to Dedham District Court following a vehicle stop on Great Plain Avenue near Newell at approximately 12:04 p.m. June 5.

The registration came back revoked for insurance on a Ford van.

The teenager faces charges including operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration, uninsured motor vehicle, number plate violation to conceal/attaching plates, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and operating a motor vehicle unlicensed.

Officers also responded to reports of identity theft on Holland Street and Francis Street on June 4, and online harassment of a Clarke Road resident on June 6.
