FRAMINGHAM — The Framingham Police Department Bureau of Investigative Services recovered two illegally possessed firearms this week through search warrants executed at separate locations.

The first firearm was recovered Sunday after police executed a search warrant at a Phelps Road address.

The warrant was obtained after a woman arrived at Metrowest Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation.

Johnnie L. Reddick-Turner, 36, of Framingham, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without a license, and improper storage of a firearm.

A second firearm was recovered Wednesday following an incident at 73 Hollis St.

During a disturbance at that location, one individual displayed a firearm before fleeing the scene.

A traffic stop conducted by Officer Matt Mangano provided a lead that enabled detectives to obtain a search warrant.

Michael Powell, 40, of Framingham, was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery.

Jose Diaz, 55, who is homeless, was also arrested and charged with possession of ammunition without a license and carrying a firearm without a license.

The investigations involved patrol officers, detectives, the Community Impact Unit and K-9 Unit.
