Beverly man charged with fentanyl trafficking, cocaine distribution

BEVERLY — Members of the Beverly Police Drug Control Unit arrested Joshmar Anthony Mendez, 29 of Lynn on Wednesday evening on charges of trafficking more than 10 grams of fentanyl and possession with intent to distribute Class B cocaine.

The arrest followed a report of suspected drug activity by a concerned citizen in the North Beverly area.

Detectives initiated an investigation and identified a suspect vehicle involved in the alleged drug activity before arresting Mendez.

Detectives recovered approximately 30 grams of fentanyl, 13 grams of crack cocaine and $2,164 cash.

Mendez was booked and is expected to be arraigned Thursday at Salem District Court.
