Springfield man arrested on DUI, warrant charges after responding to business alarm

SPRINGFIELD — A 34-year-old Springfield man was arrested on driving under the influence and warrant charges after responding to a burglary alarm at his business Friday night.

Colby Hatt was taken into custody at approximately 10:49 p.m. May 23 on River Street, according to Springfield Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to a business on River Street for a burglary alarm report.

Hatt arrived on scene as the key holder for the business.

After an investigation, police determined Hatt was allegedly operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Police also discovered Hatt had two active Vermont arrest warrants and his driver’s license was criminally suspended.

Hatt was taken into custody without incident.

He was issued a criminal citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on May 27 to answer charges of driving under the influence, criminal driving with a suspended license and arrest on in-state warrant.

Hatt was lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of cash or surety bail.
