MOUNT VERNON — Two individuals were arrested after unlawfully entering an unlocked Mount Vernon Police Department vehicle parked on the 0 block of South 8th Avenue on June 11.
The Mount Vernon Police Department became aware of the incident after a video surfaced on social media showing the individuals inside the vehicle.
Neither individual was given permission to enter the vehicle.
Following an investigation, two people were arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
Both will be charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, a misdemeanor under New York State law, and will be issued Desk Appearance Tickets.
No damage was caused to the police vehicle and no property was removed from it.
Jadiz N. Foster, 24, of Mount Vernon, was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.
A 15-year-old male was also arrested, with his name withheld in accordance with New York State law.
