Milford police arrest 2 men on warrants, seize ammunition

MILFORD — The Milford Police Department in collaboration with Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section captured two men on outstanding warrants Tuesday.

Dontay Heywood, 20, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, was arrested on an extraditable warrant for first-degree robbery and using a firearm while committing a crime of violence.

Izaiah Desjarlais Blauth, 22, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, was arrested on an unrelated felony warrant.

Tuesday morning, the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section informed the Milford Police Detective Bureau that Heywood, a fugitive from justice for armed robbery charges, may be hiding in the South Main Street area of Milford.

At approximately 2 p.m., members of the Milford Police Department Detective Bureau, Special Operations, K-9 Unit and Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section executed the warrant on South Main Street and took Heywood into custody without incident.

Desjarlais Blauth was apprehended at the same residence on an active felony warrant.

At 2:49 p.m., a search of the premises led to the discovery of a black HK 6mm BB gun and 436 rounds of 7.62×51 ammunition.

Both individuals were held without bail and transported to the Worcester House of Corrections pending arraignment.

Heywood was charged with fugitive from justice on court warrant for armed robbery and possession of ammunition without FID card.

Desjarlais Blauth was charged with warrant arrest for larceny from a building and warrant arrest for receiving a stolen motor vehicle.
