SPRINGFIELD — A 54-year-old Andover man was arrested on cocaine possession charges following a traffic stop April 30.
Matthew Wilder was taken into custody at approximately 7:31 p.m. after police conducted a traffic stop on a green Ford Freestyle, according to a Springfield Police Department press release.
During the stop, officers learned that Wilder, a passenger in the vehicle, had an active warrant for his arrest.
After confirming the warrant, Wilder was taken into custody without incident.

Wilder was transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing.
At the police station, the suspected crack cocaine was tested and weighed.
The test showed a presumptive positive result for cocaine, with a total weight of 10.08 grams.
The suspected crack cocaine was sent to the Vermont Forensic Laboratory for further analysis.
Wilder was issued a criminal citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit on June 24 at 8:30 a.m. to answer the alleged charge of possession of cocaine.
He was then transported to Southern State Correctional Facility where he was lodged due to the warrant.
