GROVELAND — A 20-year-old Groveland man was arrested on felony driving while intoxicated charges following a traffic stop June 8.

Alexander Brady was pulled over at approximately 1:49 a.m. on East Groveland Road after Deputy Jacob Cicero observed a vehicle violating state traffic law, according to Livingston County Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty.

Cicero suspected Brady was under the influence of alcohol during the initial encounter.

Deputy Justin Zajicek of the Sheriff’s STOP DWI Unit was called to the scene to conduct a DWI investigation.

Brady was taken into custody following the roadside investigation.

He was transported to the Sheriff’s Office headquarters in Geneseo, where he was offered a breathalyzer test.

Deputy Robert Brooks administered the test, which revealed Brady had a blood alcohol content of 19%.

A records check showed Brady had a previous DWI-related conviction in 2022, making this arrest a felony.

Brady was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, felony aggravated driving while intoxicated and additional violations of state vehicle and traffic law.

He was processed at the Livingston County Jail and later arraigned before Town of Lima Justice Harris.

The judge released Brady on his own recognizance, as the offenses do not qualify for bail under the state Bail Reform Act.

The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented Brady at arraignment, while the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office represented the prosecution.
