SOUTH WINDSOR — Police arrested a Vernon man on drunken driving and drug possession charges after officers found him passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle June 6.
William L. Laurinaitis, 46, was arrested at 11:26 p.m. after officers responded to reports of someone unconscious in a silver Subaru near Smith Street and Wheeler Road.
Officers found the vehicle running in the Smith Street cul-de-sac with Laurinaitis passed out behind the wheel.
Police determined Laurinaitis was under the influence of alcohol or drugs during their investigation.
Laurinaitis agreed to take standardized field sobriety tests, which he failed.
Officers discovered crack cocaine and fentanyl in Laurinaitis’s vehicle.
He was processed and released on $1,500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court June 25 at 9 a.m.
In a separate incident, police arrested Charles H. Rounds, 65, of South Windsor on June 8 at 10:30 p.m. for criminal trespass in the first degree.
The arrest followed a domestic violence-related incident in which Rounds appeared at a victim’s residence despite being told in April not to return to the property.
Rounds was issued a misdemeanor summons and was scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court Monday at 9 a.m.
