RED HOOK — Norman A. Lopez Lorenzo, 36, was arrested June 9 on numerous counts of possession of an obscene sexual performance by a child, obscenity in the third degree, and tampering with physical evidence.
The Rhinebeck Bureau of Criminal Investigation made the arrest with assistance from the Troop K Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Lopez Lorenzo is accused of possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation and attempting to destroy evidence while State Police investigators were actively conducting an investigation at his residence.
His arrest followed an investigation initiated by a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Lopez Lorenzo was transported to SP Rhinebeck for processing and arraigned at the Red Hook Town Court.
He was released under the supervision of the Dutchess County Probation Department.
