BATH — Officers with the Village of Bath Police Department responded to the Budget Inn at approximately 10:30 p.m. June 4 for a report of an order of protection violation.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the suspect, Adam Webster, a resident of the Budget Inn.
Webster denied having the protected party in his room and was uncooperative with officers on scene.
After thorough investigation, officers determined that the protected party was in the room with Webster.
Officers made contact with Webster and advised him he was being placed in custody.
Webster attempted to flee back into his room and resist while officers were attempting to place him into custody.
Webster was placed in custody after a brief struggle.
After being placed in custody, the protected party was located inside of the room.
Webster was charged with one count of criminal contempt in the first degree, a class E felony, one count of aggravated family offense, a class E felony and one count of resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor.
Webster was processed and transported to Steuben County Jail where he was held without the opportunity for bail.
