Addison man charged with felonies after domestic dispute, resisting arrest

ADDISON — New York State Police responded to a domestic dispute report at a Tuscarora residence on Addison Back Road on June 8.

Troopers interviewed a victim who reported Timothy S. Payne, 36, of Addison, had caused extensive property damage at the residence earlier that afternoon.

Police searched for Payne, who had fled before officers arrived.

Troopers located Payne during a traffic stop near Steuben Street in Addison, where he initially gave false identification.

Officers confirmed Payne’s identity through photographs and verification by the vehicle’s driver.

Payne resisted arrest, ignored verbal commands and engaged in a physical struggle that injured one trooper, according to police.

He was secured and transported to State Police Painted Post for processing.

Payne faces charges including second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree assault on a police officer, aggravated family offense, second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and false personation.

He was transported to Steuben County Jail for arraignment.
