MALTA — A Cohoes woman was arrested on felony criminal contempt charges after allegedly violating an order of protection in Malta.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint at 3:44 p.m. on May 30 regarding an order of protection violation.
Cassandra A. Vonnegut, 37, of Cohoes, is accused of violating the terms of an order of protection by attempting to communicate with the protected person through a third party.
The charge was elevated to a class E felony due to a previous conviction for criminal contempt within the preceding five years.
Vonnegut was arraigned before the Honorable Ellwood A. Sloat Jr. in Malta Town Court and released on her own recognizance pending further proceedings.
